Meet the Kids: Apache
Apache (pronounced ah-PASH) was born into a family of 17 children, and is one of 12 that survived. When he first came to us, he was extremely malnourished, and he’d never been to school. Once we got him healthy and over his fear of interacting with others, we had him start working closely with our tutor to get him caught up with his education.
Now a happy and healthy young man, Apache spends all his free time playing soccer in the yard with the other boys. He’s an incredible soccer player with a real gift for the sport, and he’s now on a team that practices after school.
We work with this special, resilient boy daily to ensure he continues to develop the social and academic skills he needs to be successful as an adult. Apache has a strong personality and a strong drive to succeed in whatever he sets his mind to.
